Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actress, best known for her film roles on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She received a BA at Brown University in African-American Studies. In the Tisch school of the arts, New York University she received an MFA. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actor and producer who is actively involved in theater, film, and on television. Her acting career began in the theatre. Later, she was a part of various television series as well as independent and mainstream films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just critical acclaim but also received a host of nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. She made her professional acting debut with the character Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. Alongside Broadway's Come and Gone, she has also been featured in Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In the film industry she is most famous for performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. In the world of television, her role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
